Summary: Son is having a blast
Comment: My son tried these at a friend's house and couldn't stop
talking about them. Just had to have them. Seems like it
is good exercise for the video game kid.

Summary: I had a blast!
Comment: I got my first pair of moon shoes when I was around 8---and I LOVED THEM. My siblings and I played with them for many years. And the plastic IS VERY durable! We still had them up until 5 years ago when we decided to throw them out. The rubber bands are the only thing that doesn't really last, and I wish we would have taken better care of everything rather than leaving them outside to weather. You wear your tennis shoes, and strap yourself in with velcro straps (similar to the training roller skates that toddlers wear)

Imagine my delight when I saw them at the store last week (I'm 22 now) I'm even thinking of picking up a pair for myself! They seem like a good workout :)

One of my fondest memories was the Christmas morning we got them---my grandma, in her 60s, got on them! They do take some getting used to but after a few minutes I was bouncing around without any fear. Though since I am now older I'm almost scared to try them again! Any kid will love these!

Summary: Moon shoes are out of this world, except ...
Comment: ... if you have two children of different sizes to share the moon shoes, you have to add or subtract sixteen rubber bands, which is time consuming. Also, the dramatic price drop for this product after Christmas is frustrating!!

Summary: Indoor fun for the winter
Comment: My son got these last Christmas when he was 8. I bought them with the idea that since we are homeschoolers (ie home a lot) in the northern US (ie inside a lot), these would be good for burning off some energy. My son is/was small for his age, so I knew that these would last him for a long time.

Our neighbor has a backyard trampoline and my son is rather proficiant and quite a dare-devil on it. When we got the moon shoes, however, I warned him that these were not the same as a trampoline and that he would not be able to jump and lift his feet out from under himself (as they show in the packaging-- thus the three star rating).

They are good for jumping straight up and down and the quality has been good (I haven't had any trouble putting the bands on).

Summary: Love 'em. What's the problem?
Comment: Pay no attention to the "how to return Santa's Toy" signature. I can't seen to remove it. as far as the shoes go, the kids looove these things. I can't understand all the fuss over these as far as people thinking they're dangerous. People talk about the potential for twisted ankles, broken wrists, head injuries, blah, blah, blah. I suppose their kids don't ride bikes, play on swingsets or run outside either.

To be honest, when I first saw these sitting on a shelf at the store, I thought there might be a little potential for injury too. I bought them anyway. I have a 10 and 7 year old. They put them on and I told them to just stand in them for a minute before trying to bounce. They started off bouncing very lightly, then were bouncing all over the house in a few minutes. Yes they have fallen several times, but they do that just walking through the house.

I wish there wasn't two feet of snow in the yard right now though. It would be nice for them to be able to bounce around the yard. The annoyance factor of these is pretty high if they bounce through the kitchen on the tile floor. They aren't so bad on the carpet though.

I've seen them described as "Cheap plastic". I think the plastic is pretty durable and I haven't seen any problems with that part. The weak link is the rubber bands. Between the two kids, I replaced nine rubber bands in two days. It's a good thing they come with a huge bag of replacements. Also, in putting the bands on, you should only put one on at a time. I tried doubling them and squished my fingers a few times while putting them together.

Ultimately, the kids can't get enough of these and they're great exercise. I just wish they made them in adult size. I'm so jealous of the kids, I want to bounce too. :-)
